Konlen - 6 months

September 2 you turned 6 months old. I can't believe my little baby is 6 months old. Since I am behind on my post I have a lot to catch up on.

On September 2, you attended your first Kansas State football game. It's a little different since you are older than Bria was at her first game but you have been a trooper for every game since.

Mommy and Daddy had their first weekend away. We went to the KSU/Vanderbilt game September 14-18, so you and sister spent the weekend at Grammy Nessa and Papa Stu's. I believe you had fun except you ended up getting a horrible cold which kept grammy up most of the night steaming the bathroom to try and help your croupy off. She ended up taking you to the doctor Monday while we were driving back home to make sure it wasn't something else. You had a viral upper respiratory infection and a cold, which meant running its course. Thank goodness mommy took Tuesday off because she was up most of Monday night doing the same thing in the bathroom with you.

September 26 while at daycare, you decided it was time to start crawling. You were helping Ms. Amy get everyones beds ready for nap time and she looked over and off you went! She felt bad for telling me but I told her I am glad she did so I can put the baby gate up on the stairs so you didn't go down the stairs like mommy did.

We are still waiting on your teeth to come up but mommy has a feeling they will be here soon! Also, I have a lot more photos this time, especially since we took your 6 month photos!

Konlen - 5 months

I think I say this every month but time has gone by so quickly!!!

August 2 "little" Konlen was 5 months. Not a lot has changed but he is now rolling everywhere he wants to go. He did discover his tongue and feet! With discovering his tongue that means he is now eating rice cereal once a day and loves his food still! I would guess he is probably around 16-17lbs.

The latest development is that Konlen gets up on his hand and knees. For awhile he struggled with getting his belly off the ground but now has his belly off the ground. I feel he may be crawling before he is sitting up by himself!

That is about all for now!

**I apologize for the lack of photos bub, I have plenty on my phone**

Bria - 3 years old!

Ugh, how is my little girl 3 years old!!!!

July 2, Bria turned 3!!! Same as Konlen, we were in Bucklin.

Every year they have a street dance and it always falls on the 4th of July weekend. Bria almost missed out this year! Marlee came down with a viral infections and even though we kept Bria home on Friday from daycare she ended up getting a 102.2 fever! We decided Konlen and I would go ahead and go to Bucklin and if Bria was better on Saturday then Brian would bring her down.

The fever would stay down with medicine and she woke up Saturday with a fever still. But as long as she had medicine it stayed down so mom said she should go ahead and come. They got in Bucklin just in time to go swimming at the pool and naps with Connor and Julia!

If only the night would remain so fun. We went to the street dance as planned but after about 2 hours there, the fever was back, she was cold (even though it was hot outside) and just didn't want to leave mom and dads side. We cut our fun short and took her home to get medicine and go to bed.

Sunday thankgoodness she woke up a brand new girl! I told her since I wasn't working Monday, we would stay until Monday and daddy could head back to Manhattan so she could have some fun with her cousins.

They had a water balloon fight that morning before Colton and Marlee left, then that afternoon grammy, papa, uncle D, aunt jodi, connor, julia, bria, konlen and mommy went to dodge to visit BootHill and watch the gun fight!

Sadly we only got there with enough time to watch the gun fight and a little bit of the can-can girls show. But since it was Bria's birthday that day, she got to get on stage at the Saloon and they sang her a birthday tune! After getting back to grammy and papa's that night, papa made her a bowl of ice cream for her birthday and she watched a few fireworks that were being shot off in town.

The next week we had her actual birthday party. And this girl likes to party, her birthday was never over until we had the party, cake and presents. We had it in the evening here at our house and it was a Trolls theme. Per her wishes we had decorations, balloons, goody bags, presents and friends!

Guests were: Grammy and Papa Kirk, Grammy and Papa Sturges, Uncle D, Aunt Jodi, Connor, Julia, Aunt Amy, Uncle Jordan, Colton, Marlee, Travis, Lauren, Kade, Ashley and Dustin. Megan and Morgan and great grandma Fisher also sent her presents. The party started with playing in the pool and/or jumping on the trampoline, followed by food, presents and cake. She had a princess poppy cake and it was awesome, everyone loved it!

I think that is all for Bria's 3rd birthday, enjoy the pictures!!!

Konlen - 4 months old!

I forget how quickly babies grow!

July 1 little mister was 4 months old!

We were in Bucklin so we got plenty of photos to celebrate. He is growing so fast and still loves his food. He has found his feet and love to play with them all the time. Unfortunately I think he may be a thumb/finger sucker! He will take a pacy but if it falls out and is no where to be found, he uses his fingers!

On July 6 we went to the doctor for a check up. Everything went well! He was 26.5 inches long and 15.1lbs. He obviously didn't get his height from his parents.

I can't remember if at his 3 month post he was rolling over, but he is definitely rolling all over the place now! He still is a big mommas boy and loves his big sister. She still tries to help with everything, and loves to talk to him as well as help get him out of bed in the morning. Bria has also figured out how to get in the crib with Konlen so that should make for an interesting time!

That is all for now, enjoy the pictures!!!

Konlen - 3 months old!

I wish time would slow down!!! I know he is only 3 months old but it is going way to fast!

May was a busy month for both Konlen and mommy. First mommy went back to work on May 3 and Konlen went to his first day of daycare. Both were a smooth transition. Mommy was a little worried because I spoiled Konlen while home and held him more than I should have. But luckily there is plenty to watch at daycare and Konlen didn't seem to mind that he didn't get as much attention as he got at home. It also helps that big sister is there with him.

Then the end of the month we made our first long road trip and headed to Bucklin for Memorial Weekend. Mom and dad played in the Bucklin High School Alumni Golf tournament that Saturday and Konlen got lots of play time with his cousins. We also got to go to the park in Bucklin and play for a little bit, which was more exciting to the big kids than Konlen.

On our way back home we had a very eventful trip! We were driving thru Pratt when Konlen decided to explode his diaper, clothes and carseat. Luckily it happened right before we pulled out of town and daddy was able to pull over in the Pratt Community College parking lot so we could get everything cleaned up. Carseat got completely wiped down and Konlen got a new diaper and a new pair of clothes! Talk about disgusting. After we got everything cleaned up, we headed on to Sterling so that Konlen could meet great grandma Mammy. Bria got to play with all the toys while Mammy played with Konlen. After a short stay, we packed up and headed back to Manhattan.

Then on May 31 we helped daddy celebrate his 34th birthday!! Unfortunately daddy had to work both of his jobs that day so we didn't get to do much but Bria gave daddy his present right as he stepped out of the shower. Then that evening we made and decorated a cake for daddy and he loved it!

The next month doesn't look like it will have much excitement with it but July will be a busy one!

Enjoy the pictures!!

New House!

I briefly blogged in my April update that we were back in Manhattan.

Now I'm going to elaborate a little more on our house!

We moved into mom and dads house in May and put all of belongings either in their storage room or a storage room here in Manhattan and began looking for a new house.

This was a longer harder process than we thought. We didn't have a lot of options in our price range and I wasn't going to settle on something because this would be a house we lived in for quite awhile.

We ended up finding one on Treesmill that was a for sale by owner and it was gorgeous! The basement needed some work but the main floor and upstairs was amazing. It was all updated and just gorgeous. So, we put an offer after viewing the home. Things were going well until we had the home inspection. It was just a mess and I honestly can't even remember half of it but our inspector advised us to run! So we did just that, and the search continued.

We found another house on Woods drive but I wasn't completely sold on it. The kitchen was very outdated and I just wasn't real sure. We wanted a master bath with 2 vanities maybe 1 more bedroom if we could. But nothing else was coming on the market and we were ready to get a house of our own! We ended putting an offer and after some negotiating we got it. House inspecting was much better this time with a few minor things but nothing major!

We closed right before labor day weekend and began moving. Brian couldn't take much time off so we hired a moving company to help move since I was pregnant. Before we did move in we had the entire upstairs (minus the bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room and dining room) painted, and the entire downstairs (minus guest room and bathroom) painted.

I believe we moved over Labor Day weekend and got all settled in. One of the deals Brian and I made when we bought this house was that the kitchen would be updated sooner rather than later. So, we began that process.  Below is a list of things we did and a things we would still like to do eventually but the house is coming a lot and we are enjoying it.

Things we have done:
New flooring in the kitchen, laundry room, living room, hallway and master bathroom
New granite counter tops in the kitchen
New appliances - refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher
New granite sink
New blacksplash
Wallpaper removed from kitchen and dining room and new paint

Things to do:
New windows throughout the whole house
Fix door walkout door in basement
New carpet in upstairs bedrooms

Bria's Potty trained!!!

We started to potty train Bria when we found out Baby #2 was coming. I didn't want 2 kids in diapers.

We didn't really push her much and kind of let her go as she wanted. We tried panties a few times and that was not successful but we were able to move from diapers to pull ups! Ms. Amy worked with her at daycare but it just didn't seem to be clicking and I didn't want to push it too much.

Finally after Konlen arrived it seemed to click. She was home with me for a few days and we decided to work harder at it. We got out the panties she had and she was able to pick out the ones she wanted to wear every morning and it seemed to be working. We have had a few accidents but for the most part she is doing really good. She wears panties every day and a pull up at night time just in case.

However, that may be ending soon as well as she never goes during the night and holds it until the morning.

Easter 2017

Konlen's First Easter!!

This year we colored eggs with Bria, which she loved! Dropped an egg one time and splattered dye everywhere but after that she was very gentle with her eggs. Didn't do anything crazy but enjoyed coloring the eggs.

Both kids also got some clothes and a stuff animal.

Then on Sunday we had grammy Nessa, papa Stu, grandma Jennifer and grandpa Bill over for Easter Dinner. It was much easier than trying to load everyone up in the car and go somewhere. We had your normal easter dinner, then Bria looked for more eggs in the back yard, opened her gifts from the grandparents, played with those for a little while and then it was nap time.

Very uneventful except Konlen threw up all over his adorable outfit before lunch even started. Glad I got a few pictures in it before hand!
